I have noticed that the messages I receive from friends at Exchange
shops have neither 'References' nor 'In-Reply-to' header fields. Here
is an example from a reply I got two days ago:

X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft Exchange V6.0.6249.0
Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2003 15:05:04 -0500
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
X-MS-Has-Attach:
X-MS-TNEF-Correlator:
Thread-Topic: admin
Thread-Index: AcLyQFkp7x5Kc8nuTYaqqfBbUtcTxQAABfs

And that is all there is. No need to cater to Exchange though, I'm
just pointing out an example.
