I reported previously that since yahoo.com uses qmail, it isn't
possible to identify bogus Yahoo addresses through SMTP.

This is still the case, but luckily some spamming yahoo addresses can
be identified once they are deactivated because of abuse. I noticed
this because my smtp_check_sender script caught some today. e.g,

$ echo | smtp_check_sender [EMAIL PROTECTED]
send: 'helo hrothgar.la.mastaler.com\r\n'
reply: '250 mta461.mail.yahoo.com\r\n'
reply: retcode (250); Msg: mta461.mail.yahoo.com
send: 'mail from: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\r\n'
reply: '250 sender <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ok\r\n'
reply: retcode (250); Msg: sender <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ok
send: 'rcpt to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\r\n'
reply: '553 VS10-RT Possible forgery or deactivated due to abuse (#5.1.1)\r\n'
reply: retcode (553); Msg: VS10-RT Possible forgery or deactivated due to abuse
(#5.1.1)
send: 'quit\r\n'
reply: '221 mta461.mail.yahoo.com\r\n'
reply: retcode (221); Msg: mta461.mail.yahoo.com
BAD sender
