Well, I was having issues, perhaps because I'm running qmail, and its
'sendmail' didn't seem to have a good default. I figured it should use
the user it was running under, but it didn't and the mail-from was
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]'. Looking at the qmail source, that seemed to be the
expected behavior if sendmail (qmail's) wasn't passed the -f and if none
of the three environment variables that qmail pays attention to were set.

That seems broken. If you're going to accept a bounce address over SMTP
(the envelope sender), or via the command line, then throw it away, how
can the bounces get back to their intended sender? Is it intended
simply as an anti-forgery mechanism?

It (the envelope sender) may not have been an issue for any of my
'users' (family members :-), but I noticed it when I was testing and it
seemed like something that should be fixed.
