Well, it cuts down on the log size a little bit, which could make it
easier to read. Perhaps somebody who wants to analyze the logfile for
per-sender stats etc. wants a small log file.

I guess it does allow persistent logging to be enabled without writing
people's password AUTH data to the log file, which might be useful.

But I personally only enable -d when there's a problem, so adding -L
wouldn't make a difference to me.
