I also see a Physiatrist. I see him every 6 months since I left hospital in
fall of 2003. I have started seeing a neuro in the last 6 months but had to
wait for almost 8 months to get in to him. He was actually testing people for
relief of neuropathic pain using Lyrica. I didn't fit into his study as mine
was spinal cord injury.

However after 8 months there was an cancellation for an appt and I took it. He
is trying me on Cesamet to see if that will help with the pain at all. I am
currently using Gabpentin and Baclofen. I am building this up very very slowly
as I took one 0.5mg capsule and it numbed the pain but also made me sleep till
almost 5 pm the following day and made me feel like I was 'hung-over' which I
have not had happen since my young days when I was in my early 20's about 40
years ago. Been there, done that didn't like it. So now I am building up
slowly.

My PCP takes care of any other issues I have with my health.

Does everyone here on this site have a neurologist? I have only seen the
neurologist once since I let the hospital, which was in November 2005. My
healthcare is managed by my Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
doctor(Physiatrist). Any problems that I have had since my diagnosis in July
2005, has been handled by my primary care physician or my physiatrist.

My neurologist was key in diagnosing my condition, but once I was diagnosed
and received plasmapheresis, the only thing that would help me after that was
therapy (which I am still trying to get more of). I haven't ran into any
issues, where my neurologist was needed.
