I rang to Jairam and asked if he is still interested to help Divena (after my first mail to the group that they are in need of money, he rang to me and said he wants to contribute some amount for them). I clearly told him that this money would not be spent for Divena but for the food expenses of her parents. He asked about the occupation of her parents and said that as you know them well and if you really feel that their need is genuine, we can give. I explained him what I know. He said, ok. We will give them Rs. 500 and will ask them to make necessary arrangements. Vani too rang me and said so, means to ask Subbarao garu to find other alternatives. First I went to the Canteen to find out if we get the tickets for 5 days. They said the tickets are valid only for a day and everyday we have to buy. The food parcel is Rs. 28 which will suffice to two people and plate idly is 7 rs. I calculated @75 rs. per day for the food of two people. This morning, I couldn't go inside as our regular backdoor (really backdoor :) from the canteen side) is closed. The security there behaving very strict and at the same time Divena's father is trying to reach me over phone. He came down and I clearly explained him the situation. He said he is using the money very sparingly and as they have to give money for the attendants there, they had to spend some more money. When Paul Babu brought his son to NIMS, he got some fever (I forgot the disease name.. triparty fever.. sounded different) and they had to spend Rs. 2000. I nodded to everything and said, may be those are facts. But as a group we can only help for Divena's food, medical bill and treatment cost/hospital bill. I also asked him about the money he has spent on medicines after we gave him money. (The money that we gave was for the amount he has spent till that day towards Divena's medicines). He said it is nearly Rs. 200. (200 la lOpE) I gave him Rs. 600. Rs. 300 for their food for 4 days. Rs. 200 for medicines till today and Rs. 100 for the money he gave for the attendant immediately after the operation. He gave me the DD that he has on Divena's name. The amount is Rs. 1000 and the bank is Citibank. I told him that I will get him money from this DD. I do not know if we can draw or we need to deposit in an account. Let us see. As I am getting late to office, I didn't go to bank.
