Hi Nachaki,

Don't know about the rates in the vicinity.

The patients, visitors and the staff too buys from the canteen. So I asked
there only.

The rates are my assumptions. In another mail I wrote the correct rates.

Rs. 28 for full meals parcel which is sufficient for two persons. Plate Idly
is Rs. 7.

will find tomorrow. On the operation day I bought buttermilk packets @6 rs.
each. Food I don't know. Tea is 2 rs.), for both of them it would be Rs. 30.
So per day 60 rs. Tiffin in the morning - 16 rs. @ 8rs. per plate idly. So
75 rs. per day. For 10 days it would be Rs. 750. This is only for their food
expenses. >>

And, this is inside the hospital?! Don't tell me it's a
government-subsidized canteen! I don't know if rupee is losing its face
value so much within India, but thinking about India as it stayed in my
memory 2 years back, I feel there're definitely a lot other inexpensive
alternatives to this!! Rs. 7/- per one plate idly! God, save the value of
rupee *among its people*. I am sure there were several days in my own whole
when I spent about 50% of that amount per day for my own food. If they're
new to the city, WE probably should tell them where food is not so
expensive.

Or, is this the least expensive? :-(
