Hello Friends, Let us discuss in this thread regarding FDP.
Coming to the idea of Nachaki on taking up FDP in schools. I do not know if there are still 'Afternoon meal schemes'. Leave about them. We want to take it up on sundays and so we cannot distribute on weekdays. That to if we can search for a small school, what would be the total strength and would our budget be enough? Coming to Ratanji's views that it takes lot of volunteer work, it is true. So what are our plans? How we can go about them? *Helping the groups that are experienced in doing so.* *Effort:* In fact, on Jan 20th meeting, when Satish garu (Satish Ketineedi) explained that he needs volunteers more than money for the FDP project which he has been doing for the past few years, Jairam showed interest to come as a volunteer. I think few others also opined so. Do not remember exactly. When I shared the same with Sundar, he said, why not we do it on our own and we cook in his hospital itself and he insisted on starting that from the next day itself, Jan 21. *Money:* In fact, I tried to contact Mr. Kiran (working in ADP, whom we know about through a mail in WWHY group). He responded with details and I forwarded them to our group. We can help Satish garu in packing the food and distributing. That way we will not be having cooking or buying effort. The time required will be one to two hours (in addition to the commute time) *What is our stand?* In the second case, we will only be spending money and if we have time some effort in distributing the food. In the first case, you are going out and helping people on the roads. In the second case, we will be helping people behind closed doors. *Who are in dire need?* Whether it is BDP or FDP, why did we choose to go the road way? We were of the opinion that at least the people behind closed doors have shelter and some sort of food. People on the road are more helpless (we felt so). It is up to the team to decide. With the current picture in March, I personally feel either we should stop that for this month or we should give money to either Satish Ketineedi or to some blind school and request them to distribute the food as we do not have volunteers.
