Coming to the idea of Nachaki on taking up FDP in schools.

I do not know if there are still 'Afternoon meal schemes'. Leave about them.

Here I beg to differ with the DECISION ". Why deciding like this to leave about
them? We may not take it up, but we can go for a preliminary assessment. We
have members who go to a/some schools regulalry. Can anyone of them please find
out whether the AFTERNOON MEAL SCHEME still runs in the schools or not? If they
are still there, being funded by government, we may LEAVE those. Or else let
those members find out what is the school strength, what would be the
effect/impact of FDP on the attendance/result of the students, what would be
the budget to carry out such a task and all. See, I dont find any problem to
ascertain these details from the school authorities especially when we have few
members who go regularly to a particular school. Atleast we can find that out
from the school where we distributed books/bags. And if at all we take up that
project (depending on the budget), then don't all of you think that school
authorities would take care of the cooking/arrangement
part? Or else we can have a discussion with the headmaster of the school that,
provisions for a year would be ours but the execution part is yours (which may
include manpower, gas/fire wood/stove/utensils). And we may go sometimes for a
surprise visit to check if it is really implemented or not.
Definitely its not a small task, but I don't find any reason why we shall not
conduct a geasibility study. May be after that we can say that LEAVE ABOUT THEM.
  What others suggest?
  Ratan
