why cant' we just do it ourselves, on a weekend, taking turns two to three
volunteers per trip??? MCH ppl wud nywys be thr to actually distrubute the
water & control the faucet.

Why spend another 1500 per camp?? Unless ofcourse you found a guy who is
badly in need of this, but again, he should be capable enough too right?

Can try the following for funding this Project, either totally or
partially. These are only various ideas on how you can approach/fund the
project. The actual implementation feasibility is left to the rest of the
group, specially the on-field members.

Contact the nearby stores where you would stop the tanker for water.
Tell them we can add their store banner aswell when we camp for the
distribution. Target big stores closeby if possible, tht is close to the
vicinity or in the vicinity.

Press - will E-RK sponsor any on this??? You can carry an Eenadu logo
on the banner aswell.

Other likeminded groups???

Any companies in particualar that have direct consumer products -
specially food products. U can ask GLUCON-D to sponsor part of this
aswell, either thru giving sample size packets of their product, or funds.
Any similar product related to dehydration help etc can be targetted too. As
an option 2, we can ourselves buy some of these packets and distribute.

I might sound weird, but even coke or pepsi aswell can be tried.

Local gyms, or health related stores. Can be medical stores aswell.

On the banner you can always add the names of the donors or
organisations, and tht might make them donate a little. Tell them they will
get some press shots on this, and ask ERK if he can post a short column on
this feature, just so we can encourage & attract some good donations on the
project.

We can stick some donation dabbas on checkout counters at major stores
like lifestyle or central, captioned...."take a minute, make a difference,
donate a rupee, or donate ur time". Small brochures of the group will help
to know more abt us. I think this will be more feasible only after
registration, to avoid legal headaches. Till then however, I suggest you
still carry a box at every watercamp u do, with the same quote, and make
them note down their name and contact no on a sheet, just leave a pen and
paper pad close to the doantion box. When we get back to them later abt whr
their 1 rupee exactly went, they will not hesitate to donate another later.

Pls target only areas where there is super water scarcity. And if
possible, distribute some pamplets a day or two before close to the stop
where you would do the camp, so tht the word spreads, and ppl in need
prepare. If one misses the first camp, or doubts the happning, they will
take us more seriously the second time. Targetting a bus stop close to these
areas, or some popular landmark in the area, is the easiest way for ppl to
recognise the spot aswell.
