I didnt' really follow all the mails on this discussion in the month I was on leave here.
But from these last three: Looks like there are ppl who want' to do it and ppl who dont' want' to...sooo...why dont' we just go ahead with ppl who wish to go on with it, taking only their contributions into account?? Chandra & Yasodha wanted to fund this project for one year down the line I think, if I am not wrong. Even if its just for some months, thts still holds good too. I wanted to fund it for this month, but looking at all the discussions last month on how much work it is and so on, I just asked my mom to do it for me close to her place. Hotel orders and stuff, too expensive. Having someone cook like a woman in need as prasanthi suggested, is a good option. It need not always be a person in need too, it can always just be a housewife nextdoor who can do it for us in her clean kitchen, and can earn hundred bucks, why not? Why pay a hotelguy or business, instead pay a housewife who can use that money for household expenses. Till the money comes in as individual contributions for this project, lets keep the project running. Till then lets not decide on setting some money aside for this project. We will by then get an idea on how its going, trying out different suggestions as karthik wrote, and some others. And then later we might be in a better position to decide upon. So for now, lets keep it gng. Members who are interested can pool in for distribution. Or choose an orphanage or something that will really appreciate this help, and not misuse it. We can always choose two or three places, and keep rotating the turns. We need not all always feel OK with one project, specially where it comes to how much priority we give to a particular project. Its all in perceptions, based on experiences or emotions whatever. So, lets not stop others who want' to do it, or feel good about helping ppl like this. Yes, but, when it comes to putting the group's general pool funds into this, we surely need to agree on a consensus. Now that you have thought about a broader idea where we really can make some difference, the same can be worked upon. Like contact the wholeseller for supplying the grocery at a concessional rate, fix up a transporter and fix-up an institute where the funds are low. Then go for checks to see if this is working really or not. Since food is not something one-time like Blankets/shoes/books/bags, I could not convince myself about the idea (and possibly others could not think for the same reason).
