Hello Friends,

Greetings.

Most of our members are of the misunderstanding that we are spending so much
on medical cases. I want to clear this myth.

Also we should measure and define 'much' means what in percentages.

These are the medical cases that we took up so far:

1. Asma (before starting the group)
2. Raju (after starting the group - no monthly contributions but money
raised specifically for this project)
3. Cochlear Surgery (specific for this project, again)
4. Jayasree case (monthly contributions and some project specific funding)
5. Sai Charan case (group's fund)
6. Divena case (Yasoda-Chandra sponsored)
7. Paparao case (given by Pranahitha and Sudha)
8. Nellore kid case (group's fund)
9. Priya's case (we haven't given a single pie) - we acted as mediators to
Harinath and Kinnera Foundation. It is ready to help but fortunately they
got funds from friends and other donors.
10. Blind boy case (Dr. Sundar is taking care of this case in Vizag. There
is a donor from Eenadu. Here we acted as facilitators).
11. Kidney problem (Dr. Sundar's classmate is taking care of this case.
Medicines are also free. When needed, E-RK is providing the amount)

(Please add any other medical cases that we took up.)

Actually we might not need the entire money that we spent on Divena for
Paparao gari case. So whatever is the extra money, that is considered as
Pranahitha-Sudha's group's share for Divena's cause.

Jayasree, Sai Charan and Nellore kid case are the only cases that we spent
from group's fund.

Any cases that we took up are based on consensus. Paparao and Nellore kid
didn't publish their news and they are completely helpless. Jayasree is
not completely helpless as her relatives tried their level best to pool the
amount. Still they couldn't make it and thats when I took the permission of
the group to help this case.

In Sai Charan's case, we would have got money from Kinnera Foundation but we
haven't taken from them in the hope that we will get the money back from
Ramesh, Sai Charan's father. He is very much interested to give us back but
the money is in the control of Eenadu people to be spent for the education
of Sai Charan. As that is also good, we didn't expect that money.

Divena's case is published in news paper. Though few donors responded, it is
of less value. (I am not undermining the amount that poured in. Even a rupee
is worth and is a contribution but whether it is sufficient for the case to
be successful or not is the question) They wouldn't have dared for the
operation with that money. Though they got CM and PM fund, they didn't opt
for the operation for lack of money. That is the reason why we responded. If
we hadn't assured them that we will take care of the operation expenses,
they would not have come for the operation.

Paparao and his wife are very poor couple. If we argue that what he could do
if we are not there and also there are many such families and how many of
them can we help, I do not have any answer. At least we will help the cases
that come to our notice. Also for Paparao, Pranahitha-Sudha and their group
helped. Also Satyakrishna's colleagues too gave money. On group's front, we
didn't spend single pie.

Cases published in news papers get some amount, no doubt in that. But that
is not sufficient always. There is no use with half-amount.

My intention is not to oppose anyone's views. We have to draw a line
somewhere. That is sure.

I wanted to share the facts with you all. I am not on any side. I am for
consensus in the group on whatever be the case or activity.

Thank you.

with regards,
PRASANTHI.
