There is no misunderstanding (atleast I feel so). Much/less/good/bad all are
subjective terms and vary from situation to situation. Me geeting angry soon
was a good point during my college days as I was the gang-leader. The same was
very bad quality when I was disucussed with parents of other children. In the
same way, MUCH is a subjective term here and when we say we are spending MUCH
on medical cases, we all (those who say so) feel that we are spending MUCH on
medical cases AS COMPARED TO other cases.
See for example, 20K is a very less amount when required for a heart Surgery.
And the same 20K is a huge amount if we want to buy note books/pencils or
library books. And the effect: May be 30 students annual requirement of note
books and atleast some books for the library for the entire schools say for 5
years.
We do not have a fixed fund and we are getting funds mostly on need basis.
Thats why few of us thought the spending on Medical cases was a little too much
(even if it was case-based and even if one particular donor sponsored the
case).
Thats why we backed Divya's idea of fund allocation for different heads.
I would like to know from all the donors/members, would they mind if the fund
is spent on different heads than the one they are sending for? I really want to
know.
Repeating it for the nth time that I (may be we few) do not say no to any
project as long as someone is getting helped by that. But when our resources
are limited, spending them on more causes is what better accepted to me than
just pouring the entire thing for one case.
May be all the members shall now say something on this. Especially I request
all the sponsorers to say what they feel. I could be grossly mistaken. What I
feel on this, I shared. I want to know from others too. May be we can have some
guidelines on the same for medical cases and incorporate that in our bye-laws.
As it is high time, I request all the members to give their opinion on this
subject.
Especially for offshore members: You guys respect the ideas of implementation
a lot and always give us the first preference because you feel we are doing
great by executing the ideas of helping someone.
I feel in the same way that if there were no big-bucks associated, nothing
much could have been accomplished. And hence, this time I request you all to
respond what you feel about allocation of funds for different type of
activities and whether you feel the amount we are spending on medical cases are
MUCH or less.
