Hi, The following are my opinions. This is very very lengthy mail. Please, read whenever u have 10 min free time.
That is the one Ratan ji prepared with what he thought as the feasible
option. Phani and Vani expressed that they are not interested to take any role. Kasyap and Chaitanya are fine with any role. They are ready to take the responsibility. In fact, I requested and felt that it would be good for the health of the group that all active members (who comes forward for the activities) to be in the Executive Committee so that they also should voice their opinion and no active member is left out.
As u said there should be only 7 members in Executive Committee r any more.
Shall we need 7 members per region. If it is so, we have 8 members from Blr and need confirmation also from them. Once u clarify this then I will ask them. I dont think they have problem from their side. We havent only work for the particular role but involve in other's work also.
The problem is everyone here wants to work, go for any activity but do
not want a designation, role as such. Some of them feel like if due to any personal reasons or professional pressures, if they can't perform, that would not be so good. They also feel that it would give room for someone to comment that these people are not performing.
Without taking any role how can anybody comment the guys who are working on
the particular project or role. If somebody think that we are not working properly and give some good suggestions for the same, then he will take care of all these things from that time onwards. One person will take the full responsible for all the issues related to that role and 2 r 3 members act as associates to him. There is no chance that all the members will be inactive at a time (Probability is very very less). So, decide among urselves and assign the roles according to their participation in previous projects. I thought I will opt for the role of Secretary as it involves much work. I proposed Dr. Sundar to be the President because he will be free enough after May 31st and is ready to take active role in our group other than medical camps. Members here trust each other very well. The problem is only with being silent and hesitant to come forward for an activity.
Why cant we assign the silent guys to do some activities like searching for
NGOs through Google and visiting the same near by his home and ask the problems he faced while completing the assigned task. If it is the problem with his profession then "OK" , otherwise, problem is with our approach then have to change it asap. Like this way, we can motivate everyone and the group will grow like anything. This has to be take care of by Senior members in the team. That's all to include all in our activities. I would like to say that the problem is with the group too. We are not using the full potential of the group. Earlier members used to ask what is the task for next weekend etc., These days they are silent. Earlier we have some activities to do. Now we do not have. Also being very busy in job is one of the main reasons. All the Hyderabad members are too busy in their work. Some of them are working on weekends too. Some work 6 day a week. Please, ask earlier members also to find new cases. First and foremost thing to be clear is that, 'Do we want to pass our time in the group?' or 'We are serious enough to use whatever little time we have in the best possible way'.
I will spend my time for my profession & family first then to society. I
cant help to the society through which it may lead some problems to my family as well as profession. If we are here to wait for the activities, the group is not going to move forward. If we are here to be proactive and create activities, the group will forge ahead with renewed enthusiasm and vigour.
Why should we wait for new cases? Cant we increase rapo with other NGOs and
find the cases? We are inactive not because of lack of cases only because of lack of time. If it is not so, the group would be driven individually. It was can't but. Now it will not be so. If no one is ready to take responsibility, the group will not be individually driven too. The group will be dormant.
Every member is interested to do some thing to the society but sometimes
they dont know how and what he has to do. That's why we joined here right. So, we have to follow what we did in our profession. Our PM has to get the projects and team members has to work on it whether the team member has interest in it or not. In our case, President and VP will find out the cases and assign to the members who have interest in that particular area and his/her experience to deal with that case and the members ideas also valuable here. We already have different groups for Education, Medical and Finance. The subgroup owners have to consider all these cons and do the best to the society whatever we can do. If we dont do in organized manner after sometime it will collapse. We are working whichever is familiar to us so far. This is great.If somebody needs any help regarding education or medical he has to approach us directly in future. Like that way we have to grow further. Please think like that way. It is the time to know who are with the group and who are not. If you own the group, you will be a part of it. If you do not own, you will find excuses.
Most of us with the group all times by giving first preference to his
profession and family. Very few of us are with the group all times besides his profession also. That depends on the individuals. Dont depend on anybody for anything. If we couldnt find that guy at right time then it will be a big problem. I want to prove that the group is not individually driven and we have active and enthusiastic members. It is only a starting trouble. I hope we will rectify it at this stage itself. I want to show how dynamic our group is.
It is already proved. Without Team Work we cant celebrate 2nd Anniversary
and complete all the projects successfully. Whoever started the group initially they know all in and outs of this. So, find the persons who are suitable to the particular role and ask them to act. If they have any problems to act for that role ask and clarify about it. That's all.
Last but not least, very few will come forward to take up any case
individually. So, dont wait for it and find and assign work to the members. Dont join any new member without knowing his ideas to contribute to the society.
