Hi all,

I started looking at OPMS project. We need few technical people who can do
analysis, research, design and coding etc. (Project home page on
sourceforge.net is http://sourceforge.net/projects/opms)
if you can contribute, please let me know.

I can help you on the technical aspects (in case if you need assistance in
setting up system or have issue with some specific api)

This project gives you great exposure into technology and involvement into
sourceforge.net project. Ideal for those who want to use their free time
for some learning or use existing experience for a good cause.
University\College students too can involve (may be they can use this as
their course project).

Details:
OPMS (online patient management system) is going to be a portal which will
bridge the gap of needy patients with the rest of the
world(donors,doctors,NGOs and online resources)

Technical specs:
PHP/MySql
Configuration Management -SVN (you can install any of your favourite SVN
client, i prefer smartSVN)
we will be using sourceforge.net as the central repository.
i have created a mailing list on opms project [EMAIL PROTECTED]),
we can use this mailing list for all our communication related to OPMS.

Requirements analysis or add-ons.
we need to gather possible requirements (so that re-work will be less). aim
is to capture all the requirements and we can think of implementing them in
small modules as time permits.

Rearch topics:
role based access, event based workflow, notification engine(emailing
system)

UI:
Developing\customizing existing template (that are freely available on net)
nice templates(might be 2 pages should be good enough, 1 for main page and
other one for remaining content pages)

DB design:
We need to design database based on our requirement analysis and research.

Application design:
Designing the workflow and individual components like notificaton engine,
workflow engine etc,
Design the html\php pages with the input fields\reports etc.

Coding:
PHP/MySQL - setting up invdividual PCs\laptops with the required softwares
and SVN client etc.
Internet is a must for uploading files (checkin, merge etc), otherwise
peoeple can work without internet connection too.

Some of my thoughts:
(There is already some analysis done by some of the TMAD members but as they
are busy, i am taking this up)

Building registratio module (bit straight forward thing)
for patients, NGOs,Doctors
There will be users, who can be patients/volunteers/doctors/donors/NGos.
user(can be any of the users including patient himself) add a medical case,
we need to capture the ailment details and estimates etc

Work flow system, it should be rule based events like new case
registration/case closure etc. When a new medical case gets registered with
the site, it should send notifications to the interested NGOs, Doctors and
donors.
also we need to all the activities and progress on that as part of case
history.

Building knowledge management system (probably wiki or some other open
source stuff can be plugged in directly).

Discussion board(we can use any open source BB with little bit of
customization).

Notification system:
we need to have email notification system, which will have certain set of
templates and based on the event in the work flow, it should be able to send
mails to the users.

Hmm, its pretty much like any other dynamic website that we come across.

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Let me know if you are seriously interested with this project.
