Hello Friends,
I am not sure if the following info. is relevant here but couldn't
resist my temptation to share it here. I was going through the old
mails for financial information and I happen to read this mail again.
Mr. Bhaskar Rao of Nellore mailed me the following about my ideas of
activities in Nellore.
----------------------
With my project experience, I would say that, you need to do the
following things, before you start your work.
1. Do reconoissance survey of the opportunities available in the
area for your social work.
2. Prioritise the above findings.
3. Check the availability of resources (funds, people and knowledge)
4. Define the constraints taking the following factors into
consideration:
a. Demography
b. Acceptance by localites / benificiaries
c. Constraints in change management.
d. Political constraints. (You may not like the local politics.
But, don't forget the fact that, you can't change the existing
political system)
e. Existing organisations (Voluntary / involuntary) and their
work
f. Feasibility
5. Do the SWOT analysis (Analysing Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats to your project
6. Change the priorities according to the above study
7. Detailed Survey about the priorities you have decided in 6.
8. You may have to refine your priorities once again based on 7.
9. Define your objectives / goals / mission.
10. Make a plan for implementation.
11. Collect the resources needed.
12. Implementation
13. Review and monitoring.
The above list looks to be stupid. But, we all follow these steps
knowingly / unknowingly, if we could review all the successful
events in our life. What you are planning is for a good cause and
you don't want to be failure. I did follow and following the above
steps throughout my career, though I was financially not successful,
as I am against corruption, beurocracy and red tapism. But I was
successful throughout my career, as per as the work is concerned.

Thank you.
with regards,
Prasanthi.
