Friends,

There is a good breakthrough with respect to Nellore activities. We
can get funding for training classes from IBM. Our Nellore volunteers
are looking for a Projector as they are planning to conduct the
training sessions regularly and want to scale to other students as
well.

We might get support from IBM for this Project. Thanks to Srivyal. He
has sent the details of Sphoorti to Pavan as IBM funds only the
Organizations that got Tax Exemption. Our Blr members Anil and Aruna
works in IBM. That is how we got this news. Lets hope that we get the
funding.

The students are ready to bear 200 rs. to 300 rs. per head and can
pool up to Rs. 5000. Aruna is ready to contribute Rs. 5000. We have
to pool 10k more to buy a Projector. We are thinking of requesting
the donors to give us on an interest free basis and if they do not
satisfy with the Progress there, we will pay back 10k after a year.
Otherwise it will be deemed as contribution from the respective donor.

Many thanks to Dr. Hemanth, Pavan, Anil and Aruna for co-ordination.

Please go through the following proposal:

TMAD – Nellore Chapter

in Co-ordination with ECM Group

Training Sessions for Engg. Students

Introduction:

We are from a place called Nellore which is located in the
southern tip of Andhra Pradesh bordering Tamilandu state as well. We
are young engineering students who wish to upgrade ourselves while we
are in the college stages it-self. But as the main industry is
located far from us and also with the less availability of industry
related resources at our place, we need to build an environment and
with the help of To Make a Difference group, we wish to develop
ourselves.

With a social motive we have formed an association a year ago
called "Eye care mission", which helps visually challenged people and
also sponsoring poor students. We used to conduct regular eye
screening camps for the school children. In that connection we have
come across with To Make a Difference (TMAD) group.

Then with their help, we wish to make a technology application which
helps NGOS to fill the gap between donors and the needy. The project
title being "Online Case Management System" (OCMS).

Thus we wish to make our footsteps in the direction of our ex-
president and a visionary, his excellence Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in
his own words "Young generation using their skills to eradicate
social problems". In other words 'Technology touching human hearts',
being our motto to this project.

Regular classes – Subject wise (HTML, Java, Ajax, Php, Mysql etc.)

                               English and Communication

                              Personality development and soft skills
training

Purpose of these trainings:

   1. To enable students acquire industry-specific skills subject
wise and also extra curricular skills required to get a job, perform
the duties well and rise up in the ladder career front.
   2. To make them responsible citizens

Target Class:

We provide this facility to both affordable and poor students. We do
not differentiate based on their social status. We only concentrate
on imparting skills and guiding students to right directions.

Money Involvement: Nil.

Everything is free. Trainers do not charge any amount. Students do
not pay any amount.

Key Motivator: Dr. Hemanth

Advisory Board:

Requirement: Projector

Reasons why we need Projector:

We have formed KT classes for this project. We have taken a class
room outside where we wish to continue regularly these classes. We
will initially divide on teams four to five in number based on
technologies required for this project. Each team at one session will
give an idea about the subject knowledge to other team members. In
the middle, our mentors whom to make a difference group is trying to
arrange will come and teach the industry and project specific
knowledge to all the members. Likewise we wish to continue in a
planned manner to improve ourselves.

We wish projector could help us in the following aspects

1) As the project we involved to do is based on web technologies and
automation tools. So lot of web pages as a model or screenshots or
power point, the presenting student need to show to the other
members. Henceforth a projector will be an inevitable tool for us to
make the process effective. For the last two sessions we managed to
do with a laptop but now the member strength has grown up and also
it's not a convenient mechanism where we have faced the difficulties
in the middle.

2) And also our mentors whom may come has been with good industrial
experience and so they may be ready with all these materials when
they have given KT seminars earlier in the industry environment. So
it will be an easier tool for them to teach us effectively and also
saves their time to work out again on finer expression modes.

3) It also builds tech-friendly atmosphere which builds seriousness
of the project members to feel as if they are in the actual industry.
We feel environment is the one which matures our skills into a finer
and faster form.

4) We wish that our seriousness also increase to explore subject if
we are with finer technology expression tools which is the vital
ingredient in project building.

5) To inculcate the habit right from the beginning from a student
level to present KT sessions similar to live atmosphere in an
industry setting. This will enable our brains to mature to such a
level with simple steps right now.
