It seems that since VIM isn't really vi (and has some incompatibilities

there should be a some reasonably simple option to enable this and similar
utilities during install.

Where should this go? How should we enable it?

/usr/linuxalike/bin
/usr/welcome2solaris/bin

What's wrong with /usr/bin/vim ? I think it will make everyone happy.
vi lovers will still have their "vi" and vim lovers wouldn't have to
hunt for "vim". That should, IMHO, be one of the easiest cases.
Or do I miss something obvious here ?
