Hi David, Req comes from the modelling of ‘one data delivery from one party to another’ using a ‘container’. Ontology defines meta data for container. One things is that there can be only one instance for the Container class.
Solution now is to subclass owl:Ontology....something I found curious and wanted to change....hence my question..... Think we better leave out the explicit restriction... Thx Michel Dr. ir. H.M. (so I was looking for a certain restriction on class level like “can contain max 1 instance”). Curious requirement, but OK. Easiest answer is to use a bit of SHACL or run a simple ASK query on the data graph to validate this requirement. Guess not inline with open world assumption anyway…? OWL almost supports doing what you want, only not with changing instance over time - more of a build-time capability. If you read the W3C spec it even talks about reasoners inferring sameAs if you’re not careful with enumerated classes. Cheers, David Dr. ir. H.M. Make an enumerated class with only one individual that is of type the class. See https://www.w3.org/TR/owl2-syntax/#Enumeration_of_Individuals Note that you can create the class in one graph, and enumerate the individuals in a second if you need to partition instances from classes and/or allow for different individuals in different contexts.
