The document about java reverse engineering has not been updated and papyrus does not seem to have a such feature, does that mean that reverse UML from java and java generation will be removed in future release ? [FAUDOU Raphael] You should not consider Papyrus as a replacement of TOPCASED. Papyrus is a technology for editors while TOPCASED is a complete modeling platform including modeling editors like Papyrus editors. Java reverse engineering is not in the scope of Papyrus and so it is normal that you do not find this component with Papyrus project. But Java reverse engineering still works in TOPCASED event it is not completely integrated with new TOPCASED Papyrus-based editors. In fact, It creates an Eclipse UML model that can be imported in any Papyrus model. Perhaps it was not clear but Papyrus editors rely on same Eclipse UML plugin that former TOPCASED UML editor. The only difference is about the graphical format (diagrams). So if you use java reverse engineering, TOPCASED will create a UML model and potentially some class diagrams with former TOPCASED graphical format (.di). You will not be able to read those diagrams in papyrus but you will be able to import UML data (classes, attributes...) into a Papyrus model . Then it will be quite simple to create class diagrams by drag and drop. It is based on the latest Eclipse 3.7 SR1 platform (Indigo). Previous TOPCASED 5.0.0 release introduced integration of Eclipse MDT papyrus editors (UML&SysmL) but those editors were not mature. There has been a lot of work done to fix all major issues and those editors can now be considered as "usable" in TOPCASED 5.1.0.
