Ugh.  This looks terrible on XP, so I've gone back to Neutrino as the
default.  Apparently engine "wimp" is the Windows implementation of
the default theme.  Disabling this gives you different defaults for
everything and Neutrino is much better.

So we're back to theme hunting.
