Certainly an option if that icon is licensed freely, but I have doubts
that is the case.

Adding menu bars to changelog and status (commit, shelve, etc) is on
my TODO list, but not in the 0.9 time frame.  If someone wants to
tackle this, all the better.

It's more than just a column toggle menu now, but that may be
reversable.  Now that the changelog tab of the settings tool is
reachable, many of those other settings could probably be moved to the
ini file.

I think we tried to put that menu in the treeview header row in the
beginning, but it didn't seem to be supported by GTK+.  That is the
natural position for it.
