Aha! I have had a problem when the database file on the drive is from a
different server version. If you had previously used the same drive with
an external SBS the .squeezebox.db (I think thats the name, make sure )
file may be in a different format. The filename starts with a "." which
makes it a hidden file in some operating systems so it may be hard to
see. If you have one of these already on the disk you may want to try
either deleting it or changing the name to something else and see if
the scan works better.

If you want to swap the same drive back and forth between the Touch and
an external server its probably a good idea to make sure they are both
running the same server version.
