NO. It is a result of a real life test in an adequate test
environment.

You missed the logic behind my arguments.

The Touch must be considered a PC like device. It has a running Linux
incl. Alsa sound layer as base on it ( I know how much trouble this
stuff can cause. The Logitech guys are using a pretty old Kernel/Alsa
for the Touch btw. -- which might be OK for their purposes.. The new
2.6.33-rt and Alsa 1.0.22b are ways more advanced then the used
2.6.26-rt and Alsa 1.0.16).

One thing is obvious to me, the designers are aware of certain
challenges associated to realtime audio streaming from a PC - that's
why they have chosen a rt-kernel.

The monitor must be causing extra load and interferences, etc. too.
For sure the designers were facing huge challenges to get the Touch
where it is today.

Though, if you follow the logic "Less is more" the DUET IMO delivers
the much higher potential. Of course a stock DUET wouldn't ever beat a
Touch.

>From a commercial perspective there is no question that the Touch is
the more appealing and probably better selling device. A revised DUET
would have not been sellable. If you don't have at least 24/96 on your
spec you're out today.

Cheers
