Well, as Ikabob suggested I put an update on, I thought I would. Having had the device for over a month now, my views are largely unchanged, in that the viewing angle is too limited and the screen size is too small.
It's interesting to read in other forums users discussing what they use to adjust the display angle, everything from lego bricks to blutak, to get the angle they need, so I don't believe I'm the only one ! :) The sound quality is great and the functionality of streaming services is of course the same, so I have to sum up that the Touch is a "nice to have" but not a true next gen Squeezebox.
