I'm sorry but what is "the software from vortexbox.com" for?

I've got almost the same setup - WD NAS connected to the router (this
noisy pair are living in the far corner) and a notebook connected to
them by air. So when I'm going to listen to my digital music I have to
connect my laptop to the Amp via an external DAC = crapy sound and busy
laptop. :(
well I've thought the Touch with attached HDD solve this problem, but
it looks like it won't due TinySC constraints.

So will it be ok to install full SBS on my laptop and manage NAS
located library and playback streaming to Touch via single wifi-g
connection? Will it cope with the traffic?

rgds,

Mike.
