Those error messages can appear when your USB hard drive shuts down and
the Touch can't read or write from it. They are common when using a
USB-powered hard drive with Touch. In this case, the hard drive
attempts to consume more current than the Touch can supply. When that
current isn't available, the hard drive will typically turn itself off.
This is usually accompanied by some clicking noises from the hard
drive.

Maybe that's what you're seeing. Or maybe not. The wiki specifies using
only AC-adapter powered USB hard drives:

Can you describe your USB setup? Hard drive manufacturer, model number,
etc.

Could you also provide the number of tracks in your library? That can
sometimes be helpful in the diagnosis too.
