I have purchased an aftermarket USB cable, with gold plated plugs!
Anyway, I've had it in use for 2 days with no apparent problems, except
I subscribed to Spotify premium at the same time, and have been on that
all the time since, and hence have not had the USB hard drive in use,
so still don't know if it is all sorted!

I'll have to just wait until I'm tired of using Spotify!
