Hi Duffy, welcome to the forum. Most of your problems stem from your folder structure on the EHD, instead of lumping 300 or 100 files into one folder, use the following: Artist/Album/.mp3 files. Embed the album art into the file tags using Mp3tag or similar, or just have one jpeg file per album folder, named folder.jpeg. The random song mix chooses songs at random from all the folders on your EHD, not just from one folder.
