Thanks again toby10 and iPhone for filling me in on a couple of options
to access the info I was searching for. I checked a few tracks each
with different file formats &/or sample size. I'm wondering what is
happening with the bit rates? First track is a AIFF file format with a
sample size of 24 bits. The bit rate is 4608 kbps CBR (converted to 705
kbps FLAC). The second track is a Apple Lossless file format with a
sample rate of 16 bits & a bit rate of 944 kbps VBR (converted to 705
kbps FLAC). The third track is a AIFF file format with a sample rate of
16 bits & a bit rate of 1411 kbps CBR (converted to 705 kbps FLAC). Are
these tracks being down converted to the FLAC format? Is there a way to
play these tracks at there native bit rate (e.g. play track one at the
4608 kbps CBR instead of the conversion to 705 kbps FLAC, etc.)? Does
this down conversion affect the sound quality?
