And what would be the advantages of such a "Receiver-ized" Touch above
the current Touch? Maybe marginally lower price because of no LCD
screen, which is a very inexpensive component. There would marginal
savings on the software side, because it's SqueezePlay underneath, just
like the Controller. The Touch costs twice as much as the Receiver not
primarily because of the touchscreen, but primarily because it has much
better audio, as well as a real CPU, operating system, and RAM.

And the disadvantage? You'd need a Controller or similar, or at least a
PC with something like UDAP, to set it up.

I don't understand how the touchscreen "diminishes the usability" of
the Touch, other than it looking out of place on a standard rack. If
you think iPeng is elegant, use that and don't go near the touchscreen.
