I have a 6 year old that can navigate the Touch mostly without
troubles. His only issue is that most menus don't have icons and are
only text, and he is only starting to read, and trying to decipher the
menu items letter by letter is quite tedious for him. But now that he
remember a few genre and artist, he can find them back trivially.

He picked up the basics very quickly. Note that I have not taught
him complex things like queuing two albums and the long press for
context menus.
