Weird ? the G61R should not have problems works almost as my G68J I use for the same purpose. But to be sure try the headphone or analog out to be sure that the Touch is really quiet. I assume you are using the spdif output on the Touch to conect to the G61R.
It can be FLAC encoding issue, that why i suggested reencoding at a lower rate -5 . Or do a WAV file from one of the 24/96 flac's and try that, sbs then transcodes to flac before sending it to the player. You can try to see if flac installed on your sbs is doing a better jobb.
