Okay, I thought you had a VortexBox appliance, so Wake-On-LAN might not be possible depending on either the PC itself or the network card installed if it's not on the motherboard.
If it's an integrated network adaptor then there's usually a BIOS setting to enable or disable Wake-On-LAN which you'd find by going into the BIOS settings screen at boot-up. How you configure VortexBox to shut down when you're not listening to anything I don't know, but I know other people here use VortexBox set up this way so it's definitely achievable and I'm sure people could help you through getting it set up if this is the way you want to go. The other option would be to use the in-built SBS server on the Touch with an external hard disk, but you'd probably run into its limitations pretty quickly using it to serve up music to other clients. -- paulster ------------------------------------------------------------------------ paulster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23073 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86745 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
