you log into your vortexbox by going to the Web GUI from any computer
that is also on the same network (your laptop, for example).  From this
"other computer" on your LAN enter this in the address bar of any
webbrowser:

http://192.168.1.18/

but replace 192.168.1.18 with the IP address of the computer running
vortexbox.  If it asks for a userid and password (which it probably
would not, it is:  root and vortexbox, respectively.
