Afiak EAD was the only ones that used ST cables back then, it is not the same cable nor is it the same transcievers and recievers as Tos, optical can be finicky about such things.. It migth not work at all.
Coax seems to be the natural choice here,it is usually better implemented than toslink in most products( Toslink can have the edge if galvanic isolation is needed ). Go for a coax cable, if you try to revive the olde hifi , get a cheap but ok coax and spend the money on speaker foam or maybe refresh some crossover components, Mirage did they use electrollytic cpacitors in thier crossovers ? 2ch hifi is unfashionable decent 2ch amps can be had used for surprisingly low prices, especially if you are able to repair old stuff. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
