My advice is to give up.

Squeezeboxes, since their inception, have always been client/server
devices. The Touch attempted to get away from this model by running the
server internally. Unfortunately, the hardware isn't always up to the
job.

Luckily, the options for an external server are many. You can buy a
Vortexbox, a Windows Home Server, use a plug computer, put together a
small, low power server, or a large powerful one, use an old Windows
desktop computer, an old laptop, or just run Squeezebox Server on your
everyday PC or laptop.
