I have 2000+ ripped Cd's on an external drive. I am using a Laptop with the Squeezebox server and the Touch is connected via ethernet from my Laptop. The ethernet connection sounds better to my ears than the wireless.
I too have had many problems with the 7.6 and the beta 7.61. Before that my Touch worked great. It is very frustrating.
