I have an SB3 and Touch both using the same server and library. Most tracks play fine on both players, however there are a few albums that will NOT play on the Touch, but play just fine on the SB3. The Touch sees the tracks and starts to play, but after 2-3 secs trying (no sound) jumps to the next track. It can't seem to find the music. The same tracks play fine on the SB3. I've rescanned the library, reset, rebooted etc with no effect.
I think the problem started when I upgraded to 7.7.1 but not positive, it might have been around before and I didn't notice.
