I don't think there is anything consistently different. For example I just downloaded 3 different mp3 albums from Amazon and 2 play fine but one doesn't (but it plays on the SB3). The other week I was loading a bunch of Christmas music onto the server for my wife, and about half of them wouldn't play on the Touch (they were mostly mp4s - I encode them all similarly using MAX. I always keep the settings the same). So no strange file types at all.
