If you plan to use MOG or other streaming services, then you would not need a computer at all. I did this recently at my MIL's house with a Squeezebox Radio. Just connected via Mysqueezebox.com and using iPeng as the controller on my iPod touch and iPad. Touch with powered speakers would work the same.
