The status you are looking at is for the internal server builtin to the touch. In order for this to work you need to have an external storage device attached to the Touch (USB drive, USB flash stick or SD card).
If you are trying to connect to an LMS server running on another computer this status does not apply. Which configuration do you have? Are you connecting the Touch with an ethernet cable or using WiFi?
