use the search function on these forums and you'll find many threads
discussing all sorts of NAS units.  In my opinion, you should avoid any
thing that is not powerful enough (x86 chip, etc.). Many NAS units are
not meant to be a server. They are meant to be NETWORKED ATTACHED
STORAGE (NAS).  You might to try any old used computer and install the
Vortexbox system on it  (this is a turn key linux/Squeezebox server
system). The PC can be stuck anywhere on your network, far away from
the music system and doesn't need to have a keyboard or monitor
attached to it.
