Many thanks garym. I'll give this a try later in the week. I historically built up my collection using my own folder structure because it was mainly classical music, was never played as "shuffle", and the tagging system was very time consuming and seemed to create far more problems than it solved. However the joys of hi-res media streaming have opened my eyes to many more genres - but I've stuck to my original file structure and run a mile from any iTunes type music management systems that threatened to take over my life! Getting the tags is much easier these days and for popular albums, but I'm of an age when one gets a bit stuck in one's ways!
I was hoping that the Dynamic Playlists add-in would still allow me to point at a folder containing loads of subfolders holding miscellaneous albums, press shuffle play and it would act as a filter to stop the system from jamming up trying to process a huge number of files. Perhaps not! So far I've added the plugin but only finding "Settings Section" with Favorite or Enabled Playlist options. Looks like I'll need to invest a fair bit of time on this one.
