I second garym's views on the VBA. It's a great device. Personally, I don't use its ripping capabilities as I prefer to rip on an external (to my PC) Samsung drive via dbpoweramp. It's faster than the VBA and lets me edit tags and artwork before I rip. One problem that was brought to users' attention recently involved the excessively short loading cycles of certain hard drives installed in the VBA (8 seconds), which could conceivably shorten those drives life span. A fix was posted on the Vortexbox forum and even I, a totally non-expert at Linux, was able to set the load cycle to a more sedate 5 minutes.
