I'm not familiar with the QNAP, so can't compare. Whatever you get, make
sure that it supports LMS without a lot of hacking, has a good support
community for questions, and is powerful enough. Low power NAS units may
work, but can be painfully slow and problematic (I started with a
readynas duo, and it worked but oh my, it was painfully slow in browsing
my library....their higher end units are much more powerful).
