good question. I never bothered to look at the VBA FLAC compression. I assume it is probably default -5 too, but not sure. Good question to ask on the Vortexbox forums. In any case, once securely ripped to flac, you can simply convert the old FLAC file to a new FLAC file with dbpa with whatever compression you want.
