I’m having serious problems with re-buffering on my Squeezebox Touch.
It’s started since I replaced my old WinXP desktop PC with a new Windows
7 one. The PC runs SBS and holds all my music in FLAC files.

With the old PC, I never had the SBT re-buffer once in all the months I
used it. With the new one, it happens about once every two or three
tracks. Always the same pattern – the re-buffering starts, gets to
about 4%, stays at that for maybe 30-40 seconds, then says "Re-buffering
failed" and the music continues to play. But when it has happened maybe
four times during a session, then it doesn’t resume playing and I have
to exit play mode and restart.

The PC is hard-wired to my router (Netgear WNR2000) but the music is
sent to the SBT wirelessly. The signal strength at the SBT is not great
at 45 – 50%, but this always worked perfectly with the old PC. Also the
fact that internet radio via MySB.com works fine, makes me convinced
this problem is to do with the new PC as that’s the only thing in my
setup that has changed. The PC has a static IP address.

I have tried clearing out the cache on SBS – this made no difference. I
haven’t tried connecting the SBT via Ethernet – didn’t see the point as
I can’t use it that way, it’s got to be wireless due to the position of
my hi-fi and PC.

I have read that large artwork files can cause buffering problems, but I
always use small ones - JPGs never larger than 500x500.

Has anyone got any suggestions? The SBT really is unusable as it is –
it’s back to the CD player for me if I can’t fix this.
