i have a question, i have a SBT in the main HT and it connects to a DAC via optical cable. i want to get another of the same DAC unit and put it in another location say about 40' from the SBT. i want to know, i'm of course using digital coax RG6 and want to know, is the 40' gonna be a problem for the SBT to send a signal the other DAC without any loss (voltage drop) that will affect what I will hear?
i'm doing it this way because i won't have to have the other DAC powered on to listen to music at the other location using it's analog out which is a Emotiva XDA-1 and it has both XLR & RCA outputs. since all my gear (pre-amp, amps & DAC) are all connected with triggers, once i turn the system off, everything turns off. i can still command the SBT from the other location via my iPad or iPhone. perhaps someone has been using a setup like this (SBT 40' away from the DAC connected via digital coax) and can tell me if it works great or if they have problems with it. also, i guess another quick question is: are both digital outputs active when using the EDO app? oh yeah, i am aware that i would have to listen to whatever is playing on the SBT at both locations, that's not a problem. i don't want to have to buy another SBT for the other location since the DAC is cheaper and i can get more uses out of it. thank you in advance for your time to any and everyone who responds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ solarrdadd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56530 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94512 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
