Okay, so maybe I was a bit too soon by claiming it worked perfectly. It works, but only with 44.1 kHz material. 88.2 material and up do work over spdif but not over usb. Yes, there is sound, but it sounds distorted. The information on the SBT shows the frequency constantly changing. The DAC does not display the frequency as it does with spdif (both 44.1 and 88.2). It looks to me like the SBT and the INVICTA do not agree about the correct frequency.
